As a Library and Information Assistant at Redruth Library, I play a key role in delivering a welcoming, inclusive and responsive service to residents of Redruth and surrounding communities. Operated by Redruth Town Council on behalf of Cornwall Libraries, the service goes beyond traditional book lending. we support access to information, digital resources and community engagement by helping users with public computers and digital skills, the home library service, and contributing to a varied programme of activities. These include adult craft and social groups, family story and craft sessions, and Rhymetime for children under four, ensuring the library remains a vibrant and accessible community hub for all. / Battery recycling – to ensure emptying as appropriate. I oversee the library’s Cornish Studies section, including ensuring up to date information about Local & Family History & Kresen Kernow. I also contact borrowers about overdue books and ensure the library team have up to date service information and statistics.
